Aldridge roofing services

Aldridge’s suburban homes often have flat roofs over garages, dormers, porches and rear extensions. C Kearney Roofing assesses the deck, drainage and edge details before recommending EPDM, GRP or torch-on felt. As a family business based in Burntwood, we bring over 20 years' experience to flat and pitched roof replacement projects.

Professional
roofing services in Aldridge

On Aldridge’s interwar and post-war homes, garages, porches, dormers and rear additions have created plenty of flat-roof surfaces. Many older sections were finished in felt and now need a more considered renewal. The right answer begins with the roof deck, the falls and the way water reaches an outlet or gutter. Material comes next. EPDM, GRP and torch-on felt each suit different roof shapes and details, so selecting one should not be a box-ticking exercise. We inspect the perimeter, upstands, rooflights where present and the link to the main house. That gives you a grounded proposal for a flat roof replacement that accounts for drainage as well as the visible finish. It keeps the decision tied to the roof itself.

clay roofing

Clay tiles can give a new pitched roof or extension a traditional appearance, particularly where the main house already uses a small-format covering. We assess the pitch and roof shape, then plan the layers beneath the tiles as part of the renewal. Valleys, hips and roof-to-wall junctions are set out carefully, because they have a major effect on the finished elevation.

Slate roofing

A slate roof replacement can suit a property where a thinner covering complements the existing roofline. Slates are laid in ordered courses, with the roof’s dimensions and details governing the setting-out. We consider the underlay, battens, fixing arrangement and lead flashings around chimneys or abutments, giving the whole roof the same level of attention as its visible surface.

Concrete tiles are common on Aldridge’s suburban housing and can be renewed as part of a full roof project. The work includes examining the roof beneath the old covering, then preparing it with appropriate base layers before the replacement tiles are fitted. Eaves, verges and ridge lines are considered closely so the finished roof has a tidy, consistent outline.

Roofing for New Build / extensions

New build and extension roofing needs a clear relationship with the home it joins. C Kearney Roofing collaborates with homeowners, architects and builders on pitched and flat roof elements, considering roof level, drainage and the chosen material early. That approach helps establish how the new roof will meet existing walls, tiles or slate before the build reaches the covering stage.

Flat roofing
in Aldridge

For an Aldridge garage, porch, dormer or extension, we begin by looking at the deck, falls, outlets and edge construction. EPDM, GRP and torch-on felt are discussed against those details, rather than chosen by name alone. The proposed replacement also considers upstands, trims and the connection back to the main roof, where water can collect if the junction is poorly arranged.

bespoke lead work roofing

bespoke lead work

Leadwork is used where a roof meets masonry, another roof surface or a change in level. For an Aldridge extension, that might involve an apron against a wall, soakers beside a tiled slope or formed flashing around a chimney. The service can include a new lead roof, work to existing leadwork or restoration of historical lead features, all designed around the junction concerned.

how we work

Reliable Roofing Services

Why Aldridge homeowners choose
C Kearney Roofing?

As local experts, we have an in-depth understanding of Aldridge’s unique architectural styles and weather conditions, allowing us to tailor our services to your specific needs.

  • Flat-roof relevance. Aldridge’s predominantly suburban homes have many garages, porches, dormers and rear additions. These are exactly the areas where an ageing flat roof needs a replacement plan based on deck condition, drainage and edge detail. It does not need to be complicated.
  • Choice with a reason. EPDM, GRP and torch-on felt are not interchangeable labels. We assess the roof shape, outlets, upstands and access, then explain the material options in relation to the project in front of us. That makes the comparison useful.
  • Nearby working area. Aldridge is in the Walsall borough, close to the wider West Midlands area served by our Burntwood-based business. A site visit provides the proper starting point for a flat roof proposal. We can see the details before advising.
  • Our Reviews. Its Google listing displays a 5.0 score from 8 reviews. The record includes a review for a large flat roof with parapet walls and rooflights, which is relevant to homeowners comparing flat roof work.
  • No pressured commitment. Every quote is free and no obligation. We discuss what needs to be included, then leave you with clear information about the proposed work and the available workmanship guarantee options. There is time to consider it.

Absolutely superb work yet again. One large flat roof with Parapet walls and rooflights and a front porch that required extensive unforeseen additional works. The guys were courteous, pleasant and hard working. The working and surrounding areas were kept clean and tidy throughout. Two great jobs done for the quoted price, I would highly recommend this company.

I was given Craig’s (C Kearney Roofing) contact number by Dreadnought Tiles as I wanted specific tiles to be used on my new roof. I had a couple of people come and see me to have a look and give me a quote, but no one seemed interested. I had a totally different experience with Craig, he was very pleasant and knowledgeable. The choice of tile I chose wasn’t the cheapest but it has transformed the look of my house! I am so pleased. Craig’s team of workers were excellent, hardworking and trustworthy. Communication was excellent and I felt very comfortable that my house was secure at all times. I would definitely recommend Craig to anyone that needs a new roof or repair work. Fantastic job thank you!

Having spent many wasted weeks looking for a reliable roofer and being let down or lied to I found Craig on Google and decided to give him a try to quote. He arrived promptly at the arranged time and after some street level review he got the ladders and inspected properly finding more issues outside of our original thoughts. He then took the time to explain and show pictures of his findings and reason that a part repair was not the way to go. Having received a quotation detailing all works and the materials he would use and decided to contract C Kearney roofing to undertake a full strip and re-tile plus repair chimneys and bay window roof. As the date for start loomed closer Craig supplied a full schedule of works which he maintained fully to the end. His dedicated team were professional, courteous and tidy all through and ensured the site was left clean every day. Inevitably issues were found along the way as would be expected removing a 60 year old roof but Craig and the team tackled these and moved on. Each day Craig either phoned or sent photos of progress and kept us fully up to date. We are so glad we chose C Kearney Roofing for the job and have no reservations about using them again to replace bay cladding and canopy roof at a future time.

I had several Roofing companies come & quote me for work on my roof recently. All bar one “ Kearney Roofing LTD said that the original tiles were ok to reuse & they would only need to replace the felt & batons. All from assessing the job at street level. Craig at Kearney Roofing LTD took the time not only to go up on the roof but he stripped a section of the tiles from the roof to make an informed assessment of what was needed for the job. Craig also showed me that the tiles themselves had become porous & out lived their usefulness. I was given a schedule of when the scaffolding, materials & skips would arrive. Which all arrived on time without any problems. The workmanship of the roofing team lead by Craig was excellent & attention to detail was obvious. I was invited up to roof level to inspect work at various stages of the installation & I could see that the team took a pride in their work. I would not hesitate to recommend Kearney Roofing LTD to anyone wishing to have a new roof installed by such a professional company.

Yes, a garage roof can be assessed as its own project where it is separate from the main pitched roof. The survey considers the garage deck, walls, edge trims and drainage route, as well as access for the work. The proposed covering is selected for that roof area and its details, rather than by copying the main house roof.

The choice starts with the roof’s size, shape, deck, edges, upstands and drainage route. EPDM, GRP and torch-on felt each suit different construction details, so the surface material is only one part of the decision. We inspect the flat roof and discuss how each option relates to the proposed build-up, access and the junctions around it.

Absolutely. We adhere to all relevant building regulations and roofing industry standards, ensuring compliance and quality in every project.
